"Words are no longer enough. Now, we must act." London, 1912. For many years, women in Britain have campaigned unsuccessfully for the right to vote. Now, Emmeline Pankhurst, the leader of the suffragette movement, has called for military action. Maud has worked in a laundry since she was seven. When she meets a group of suffragettes, her view of her own life slowly begins to change. Before long, Maud is in danger of losing everything to fight for what is right.
